ZED26 High Resolution Eddy Current Sensor is a single probe eddy current displacement sensor with excellent displacement resolution (up to 0.0005% FSO), which can measure ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic all metal materials. The system is developed based on the balanced bridge eddy current technology, which is easy to use and has excellent performance, and can be used in various extreme environments. Whether it is used for scientific research or automated process control, the system can show excellent performance, especially suitable for applications requiring high-resolution displacement feedback control, such as optical positioning stages, atomic force microscopy, rotational axis position detection, etc.
ZED26 system consists of two parts: measuring probe and controller. The measuring probe extracts the distance information as the impedance information of the coil, and the phase demodulation circuit in the processing circuit converts the impedance information into a voltage signal related to the displacement, which is output after linear correction by the digital module. Among them, the ZED26 controller has 2 interfaces, one is the probe interface and the other is the input and output interface. One end of the connection between the cable and the processing circuit is a 10-pin self-locking air plug, and the other end is divided into 3 interfaces: power supply port, analog output coaxial cable, and digital output DB9 interface.
The ZED26 system is simple and easy to use: connect the probe to the processing circuit, connect the power cord, and turn on the power in sequence, and the power indicator light turns on and it can be used normally. Displacement information can be obtained through analog or digital output ports. The analog output -5V~+5V corresponds to the full scale range, and the digital output can view and save the waveform with the host computer software.

Re-calibration is required to replace the target board material, especially for precision measurement requirements. If the user's target material is different from the factory calibration material, he can choose the factory special calibration or the user's own calibration when ordering.
The processing circuits and probes in the controller of each sensor are precisely calibrated at the factory. It is not recommended to mix and match them. It is recommended to use them in pairs to obtain the best performance..
The size of the target board to be tested is at least 3 times the diameter of the probe, and the target board that is too small or the special-shaped target board needs to be calibrated by the factory or by the user..
The thickness of the target board to be measured should be at least 4 times the skin depth, which is related to the magnetic permeability and electrical conductivity of the material. The too thin target board needs to be calibrated by the factory or by the user.
The coil is encapsulated with PEEK material
The electromagnetic field is widely distributed
Large measuring range requires larger measured surface size
Poor immunity to adjacent conductors

PEEK package flush with metal case
The electromagnetic field distribution range is small, and the measurement range is small
Strong immunity to adjacent conductors

(1) Threaded probe
Thread fixing is a common fixing method. There are the following two fixing methods. The probe needs to extend a distance from the metal nut or the fixing plate. For the specific value, see the probe dimension drawing.
Due to the existence of the thread gap, there may be a certain error in the installation angle of the probe. Selecting a nut that is in close contact with the probe can reduce the error to a certain extent.

(2) Polished rod probe
The polished rod probe can be fixed with a circumferential lock, which can provide a stable fixing effect. The probe needs to extend out of the metal fixture for a certain distance. For the specific value, see the probe dimension drawing.

ZED26 can be used to precisely measure the length, width, height, thickness, roundness and other dimensions of metal materials, displacement, deformation, vibration, etc. It is especially suitable for applications requiring high-resolution displacement feedback control, such as optical positioning stages, atomic force microscopy, rotational axis position detection, etc.

In inductive displacement sensors, the eddy current principle occupies a unique position. Displacement measurement by eddy currents is based on extracting eddy current energy from an oscillating circuit. The core of the sensor probe is the coil. When a high-frequency AC signal is applied to the coil, a magnetic field will be formed around the coil; if the conductor is placed in the magnetic field, according to Faraday's law of induction, an eddy current field will be induced, which in turn will induce an eddy current field. Affects the magnetic field strength and ultimately changes the inductance and resistance of the coil. The closer the distance between the coil and the conductor, the greater the strength of the eddy current formed in the conductor, and the greater the variation of the coil inductance and resistance, so the inductance and resistance of the coil have a corresponding relationship with the distance. The precise demodulation circuit inside the sensor controller can obtain the change of the signal amplitude and phase position of the coil to calculate the impedance information of the coil, and then realize the displacement measurement.
